Inspired by the colours of the Pohutakawa Tree, we have designed and created the RANGATIRA RED KOROWAI.
Red Black and white are the Colours of the Tino Rangatira Flag. It symbolises determination, iwi pride, courage and strength for Maori. It speaks of reclaiming our Heritage, of Renewal and Hope for the Future.

This taonga(treasure) has a vibrant Red Hen and Coque background with Bands of White Hen and Chinchilla feathers crossing through it, giving the the design a striking feature. It is completed with a Mantle of Soft White Hen feathers, and a Strong base of Pounamu Black hen and coque feathers at the base.
This Korowai is triple lined, with feathers on a strong Calico Backing, an inner layer of Poplin for comfort, and finishes with a lining of Polyester Satin, adding a cool, yet lux touch.
The black cord ties are highlighted with matching feathers.
