Tane Mahuta

Inspired by the Forests of Tane Mahuta we have designed and created the TANE MAHAUTA KOROWAI for GRADUATION CEREMONIES. This stunning and unique Korowai honours your whanau, blending Culture, Heritage and Tradition with this Contemporary Korowai. 

This taonga Korowai acknowledges, the dedication, commitment and perseverance in challenges on the Journey of Seeking Knowledge and Education. Graduation Time is a day where Whanau can share in the Celebration and Acknowledgement of your Achievements and Success. A proud moment for Whanau, and we are humbled and honoured to be able to participate in this Journey.

This beautiful TANE MAHUTA KOROWAI has layers of Golden Hen feathers, with accents of White Hen , Forest Green Coque and Natural Chinchilla feathers, culminating in a pure white throat at the top.

This Korowai is triple lined, with feathers on a strong Calico Backing, an inner layer of Poplin for comfort, and finishes with a lining of Polyester Satin, adding a cool, yet lux touch. The black cord ties are highlighted with matching feathers.

The TANIKO Band is Poutama Forest Green which compliments the KOROWAI. The Poutama Design is a Traditional Maori pattern that symbolises whakapapa (geneology) and levels of attainment, advancement and growth.

In Maori tradition, Tane climbed the steps to the Heavens and bought back the Three Baskets of Knowledge. Poutama is often referred to as the Stairway to Heaven.

This Korowai comes boxed with its own hanger and garment cover.

It takes 1-2 weeks, depending on current orders in the queue, once order is placed your order goes into a priority queue to be made.
